With unique access to the story – Michael Lee Nirenberg’s father was one of Hustler‘s original art directors in the 1970’s and 1980’s – this is a definitive look at the personalities and features that created what is generally considered the most offensive magazine of all time.
From its humble inception as a night-club rag, through its adjustments to pornography in the 21st century, the Hustler saga is told by its infamous publisher, Larry Flynt, as well as the editors, cartoonists, models, attorneys, art directors and cultural figures that shaped it. Among the colorful interviewees are Paul Cambria, Gail Dines, Jimmy Flynt, Joe Gallant, Al Goldstein, Chris Gore, Nina Hartley, Ron Jeremy and William Nirenberg.
