Kinky Film Festival Returns to Portland for a Hot, One-Night Stand

New York, NY; July 19, 2011 – A special evening of films that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality will screen on Sunday, August 7, 2011 as CineKink, “the kinky film festival,” returns to Portland for a hot, one-night stand.

At 7 PM, BEST OF CINEKINK/2011 is a collection of sexy shorts deemed the best during CineKink’s annual festival run. This year’s assortment, celebrating and exploring a wide range of sexual proclivities and perversities, includes LOVE HOTEL; BUTTERFLY CAUGHT; TURNING JAPANESE; LOVE, HUGS AND KISSES, SISSY STEPHANIE; PISS and CACTUS.

And at 9 PM, it’s the west coast premiere of KINK CRUSADERS. Winner of the Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary Feature at CineKink/2011, the work is a loving profile of the International Mr. Leather contest, an annual event that got its start in the back of a Chicago bar over thirty years ago… and which now draws thousands of men from around the world to compete for a title and a sash.

CineKink: PDX is presented in conjunction with Oregon Leather Pride (http://oregonleatherpride.org), which runs August 5-14, 2011.

KINK CRUSADERS

A loving profile of the International Mr. Leather contest, an annual event that got its start in the back of a Chicago bar over thirty years ago… and which now draws thousands of men from around the world to compete for a title and a sash. In tracing the history of the contest, the documentary also reveals the many ways that the Leather community, once a small, insular niche, has expanded into the mainstream. And it delves into the aspirations of its contestants, past and present, as they transform their lives through a competition that celebrates not only the art and beauty of masculinity, but also upholds the importance of service and community.

Features interviews with IML’s founder, Chuck Renslow, along with past title-holders Guy Baldwin, Mikel Gerle, David Kloss, Tony Mills, John Pendal and Jeff Tucker.

A shy and studious girl wanders into a bookstore and is transported to another world by the images she discovers in a book on Japanese bondage.

A couple struggling with their finances stumbles upon an unknowing sleepwalker and they exploit her nightly episodes by selling tickets.

CACTUS
Anna Treiman, 2009, Denmark, 30 minutes.
Harboring a secret sexual fantasy of being raped, Helene hires a gigolo to fulfill her imaginings. But the “rape” does not go according to the agreed scenario and, faced with unforeseen complications to her plan, Helene must confront the true workings of her desire.

Total program running time is 80 minutes.
